At Black Wolf, we believe that true craft excellence is built on AI – Artisan Instinct. Our distillery, in the heart of Coimbra, was designed with a mission: to eliminate waste. For us, the Zero Waste concept is not a trend, it's the only way to operate.

The Water Cycle: Cooling and Reusing

The distillation process is intense and requires rigorous cooling of our still. To avoid wasting water, we implemented a closed-loop system.

100% of the water used to cool the still is reused internally, ensuring conscious and efficient water management. It's a continuous cycle where nothing is lost, everything is transformed for the next distillation.

Post-Distillation Botanicals: From Garnish to Cocktail

The botanicals and fruit peels we use to bring our gins to life and give them flavor are of the highest quality. After distillation, these precious materials don't go to waste, but rather to our upcycling area.

We recovered all the fruits and botanical ingredients used in the production of the gins.

These are dehydrated and transformed into natural garnishes, or incorporated into syrups and mixers, for later use in cocktails served during tastings and in the store, maximizing their value and extending their purpose.

Partnership with the Earth: Feeding the Community

Malt and grains are the basis of the entire production. After being cooked and used in the initial phase, their journey is not yet over.

Instead of discarding our cooked malt and spent grain, we donate it to local farmers in Coimbra.

This circular partnership ensures that the byproduct of our distillation becomes high-quality, nutritious animal feed, strengthening our connection to the surrounding agricultural community.

Clean Energy from the Pack

Ensuring a minimal carbon footprint starts with the energy source.

We believe in the power of the sun. Our distillery primarily uses solar energy to power our production process.

This drastically reduces our dependence on fossil fuels, ensuring that our products are as clean for your conscience as they are for your palate.
